Somehow, August has flown past us, and it’s the first Monday of September already! That means that it’s time for this month’s Hop around the World with the Flourishes Beautiful World Tour team!
Thank you so much to everyone who hopped along with us last month and left us all wonderful comments. It was so wonderful to see all the enthusiasm for the new team!
If you landed here from Dina’s blog, then you’re on the right track… if you’re here by surprise, you may want to go back to the Flourishes blog and start your travels there!
Remember, as you continue through your travels in this month’s tour, you have the chance to *win* a FREE Flourishes stamp set! All you have to do is leave a comment on each designer’s blog as you travel by us, to be entered into the random draw. Of course, there’s a catch: you don’t know which country is going to be this month’s “Vacation Spot” (chosen blog), so make sure you leave everyone a comment, for your best chance!
This month, our hostess is Anne-Elise, and our challenge was to Remember a Friend. Friends are the family we hand pick for ourselves, and where would we be without them? They’re our shoulder to cry on, our partner to laugh with, someone to share ourselves with. So this month, we are remembering those friends with our cards, using the possible themes of Sympathy, Missing You, Thinking of You or even Wish You Were Here.
I decided to create a card using one of my favourite quotes, which just happened to belong to a perfectly fall-themed set, Falling Leaves. This was a perfect sentiment for this month’s theme, and I really love what it conveys – that life is really all about the little moments that happen in a flash, but stay with you forever.
I used the rock-n-roll technique when I was inking my leaf silhouettes, to give them that fall-kissed look. Then I stamped over those with the larger, maple leaf outline stamp. It reminds me of the trees at the very start of fall when they are in their full glory before they become bare for the winter.
Here’s a close up:
That’s it from me for today’s tour… but the rest of the team has lots more inspiration for you!
Now it’s time to set off for Australia to visit:
